Cari Hermacinski was raised in Craig, Colorado and graduated from Moffat County High School. Cari earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work (B.S.W.) from the University of Wyoming, a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Wyoming and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Denver. Cari is admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado.
During law school Cari interned for Edward Zeigler, the principal author for revisions since 1985 of Rathkopf’s Law of Zoning and Planning - the most widely cited land use treatise in the country. Cari also interned at the Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute and wrote for the Water Court Reporter.
Following law school, Cari joined the telecommunications industry as a consultant in Philadelphia, PA. Her duties included presenting her clients’ cases to zoning and planning boards, city and borough councils, county commissions, state wildlife boards and other quasi-judicial authorities. In 1999, Cari founded her own consulting firm, Telecomm. Acquisition Group, Inc. (TAG), which acquires and performs the due diligence necessary for the construction of wireless telecommunication sites. She continues her work in New York, Baltimore and the Rocky Mountain region.
Cari has lived in Steamboat Springs, Colorado since 2001, with her husband, Dr. Mark Hermacinski (a general surgeon and president of Steamboat Rugby) and her two young daughters. In November of 2007, Cari was elected to serve on the Steamboat Springs City Council. In November of 2009, Cari was re-elected to the Council and currently serves as President of the Council.
